Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program Changes for 2014.

The Government of Saskatchewan has announced that, in response to feedback from immigration stakeholders, the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) will be overhauled and streamlined in the New Year.

The SINP is Saskatchewan’s Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). Most Canadian provinces have dedicated PNPs, which allow them to nominate foreign nationals to the Federal government for Canadian Permanent Residency.

It’s true, anytime you travel in the world these days, you can easily catch a new bug and your body immediately becomes weak as it tries to fight off the invading pathogen while a prescription for antibiotics won’t necessarily work and are completely ineffective at fighting off the so-called super strains that make the evening news. However, over 250,000 new immigrants each year, despite the risks, make their way to Canada for a better life, to avail of a world class education system, strong and stable economy, and a free universal healthcare system.

Federal Skilled Workers Occupational List 2013

Eligible Occupations List

The eligible occupations stream will have an overall cap of 5,000 new applications and sub-caps of 300 applications in each of the 24 occupations on the list.

Please note that individual Provinces have their own occupational lists in addition to the Federal Skilled Worker list as below. If you want to reside in a particular Province, consult the Province’s website for details on the occupations they are currently accepting or email info@immigrantbusinessbc.ca and we can direct you.

B.C. migrant workers face deportation after raid

Here are my comments on the case that came out in the media today on a raid that took place on a construction site where there were migrant workers working without permits:

The activity described in the CBC news article by the construction company and the workers is absolutely illegal. And the CBSA is the enforcer of the Immigration Refugee Protection Act which gives them special powers:
