SUMMARY:Enhanced Security Training Program
DESCRIPTION:The Employment Skills Access Program at Douglas College provides TUITION-FREE group based training for unemployed individuals who need to upgrade their skills in order to get employed\, who have not established an Employment Insurance claim in the past three years\, or five years in the case of maternity/parental leave. \nThis three (3) week training program (Monday through Friday from 9:00am – 3:00pm) is designed to provide clients the opportunity to gain certification as a Security Professional. It includes the mandatory provincial Basic Security Guard Training (BST) material\, and is enhanced by the inclusion of Essential Skills (ES). Our program is unique\, as we have a job search component as well as a more comprehensive instruction on the theory of legal applications\, operational procedures\, practical applications\, extensive rules of evidence\, and workplace scenarios.\nDouglas College is highly recognized by employers\, and graduates will be highly skilled to obtain and maintain employment in this in-demand industry in BC. \nEarn (4) Industry Certifications:  \n\n\n	\nProvincial Basic Security Training (BST)\n	\nOccupational First Aid & CPR Level 1\n	\nWHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information Systems)\n	Douglas College Certificate of Completion
